Prānāyāma

@ THE LAB STUDIO BERLIN

Pranayama is nothing but the training of the breath in a yogic way. It is - unlike deep breathing or breathwork - unique to Yoga.

Pranayama as standalone practice is tapping pathways to facilitate flow of prana, remove blockages, and ‘lubricate’ fascia. Every class focuses on cleansing and purifying the biome which works directly on the vagal nerve complex. Specific pranayamas such as Brahmari to increase Nitric Oxide, helping to efficiently deliver O2 to the tissues and cells of the body and aiding renjuvenation on a cellular level.

Classes will focus completely on one hour of “pure practice”. There will be complete guidance but less explanation.

A variety of relaxation techniques that give the body and mind the means to cope with inevitable stresses, and knowing how to properly close a satisfying pranayama practice session are just as important.

The aim is for participants of all levels, teachers and sincere yoga practitioners to experience the effects of a regular and consistent pranayama practice.

Changing your breath, changing your life for the better. Health, inner peace, focus, and happiness.

Really, what more could you want?

Holistic yoga sessions with simple practices in alignment with the essence of āsana as a laboratory of tone. A steady, relaxed posture organizes the body’s innate rhythmic stability, quiets emotional turbulence and turns the mind toward unity.

this can be achieved through prayatnashaithila - effortlessnes - and the awareness of being part and parcel of a greater whole, which removes conflicts or dis-ease on physical, mental and emotional level.

More advanced āsanas are introduced in precise and mindful guidance.

“Just as one gradually tames a lion, an elephant or a tiger, so the breath must be slowly brought under control. Otherwise it harms the practitioner.

When prānāyāmas are practiced properly they remove all diseases, but improper practice generates diseases.”

Pranayama is an essential and often overlooked hatha yoga discipline. Pranayama has the potential to create physical and mental health and is the doorway to deep meditation.

Careful and clear instruction is necessary for success in pranayama.

Lea Asja provides such instruction for beginner, inermediate and advanced pranayama students. Her courses and classes are grounded in traditional hatha yoga scriptures, modern science, and personal experience of herself and her teachers.
