Prāṇāyāma is often mistaken for “deep breathing.” In reality it is the reconditioning of the psycho‑physiological mechanism

  • The respiratory rhythm becomes even and slow.

  • Emotional disturbances subside.

  • Thought activity quiets.

  • Awareness expands inwardly.

By refining the rhythm of breath, it refines the rhythm of life . We will practice consecutive and specific pranayamas, foundations and cleansing practices. Beginner and intermediate practitioners welcome!

TRADITIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC YOGA METHODS FROM MASTERING THE BREATH TO THE STILLNESS OF THE MIND

About Sudhir Tiwari : Sudhir Tiwari is an experienced, international Pranayama teacher in the lineage of Kaivalyadhama. He is the son of O.P. Tiwari ji , one of the world foremost authorities for traditional Yoga and Pranayama practices. Sudhir ji teaches since more than 15 years traveling the world, he is known for clarity, humility and a deep respect of traditional yoga science

About Kaivalyadhama: Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute was founded in 1924 by Swami Kuvalyanandaji. It is since then on the forefront of traditional Yoga practice in conjunction with up-to-date scientific research. Especially known for the work in the field of Pranayama and therapeutic Yoga

We are delighted to welcome Sudhir Tiwari ji back to Berlin for the third time. He will be offering an in-depth workshop on traditional PRANAYAMA AND MEDITATION, techniques rooted in the Kaivalyadhama tradition—one of India's most respected and research-intensive yoga institutes.

Breath is something we all share, yet we are rarely guided to explore it mindfully and with understanding. PRANAYAMA offers a path to viewing breath not merely as a technique for control, but as a practice of surrender that fosters clarity and enables a deep connection between body and mind. Whether you are seeking grounding, deeper awareness, or a renewed relationship with breath in everyday life, this workshop offers a gentle and precise way in.

The workshop is open to dedicated yoga practitioners, teachers, and students who wish to deepen their understanding of breath as a practical and philosophical discipline.

this can be achieved through prayatnashaithila - effortlessnes - and the awareness of being part and parcel of a greater whole, which removes conflicts or dis-ease on physical, mental and emotional level.

More advanced āsanas are introduced in precise and mindful guidance.

pranayama

“Just as one gradually tames a lion, an elephant or a tiger, so the breath must be slowly brought under control. Otherwise it harms the practitioner.

When prānāyāmas are practiced properly they remove all diseases, but improper practice generates diseases.”

-Hathapradīpikā 2.15 -16

Pranayama is an essential and often overlooked hatha yoga discipline. Pranayama has the potential to create physical and mental health and is the doorway to deep meditation.

Careful and clear instruction is necessary for success in pranayama.

Lea Asj provides such instruction for beginner, inermediate and advanced pranayama students. Her courses and classes are grounded in traditional hatha yoga scriptures, modern science, and personal experience of herself and her teachers.
